Near Travel Fees

*** PLEASE NOTE ***

Beginning on 4/01/2022, our fees will increase for the first time since 2005. All projects submitted for plan review or inspections requested for after 3/31/2022 will be subject to our new fee schedules.

In 2018, the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation (TDLR) instituted new procedures for Registered Accessibility Specialists that require significantly more administrative work for our staff. Furthermore, the costs of inspection travel have increased as well. We have made every effort to keep our costs low, but unfortunately increasing our fees is necessary in order to continue to maintain the exemplary service we strive to provide.

Administrative Fee

When TDLR began licensing individuals to be Registered Accessibility Specialists in 2005, TDLR continued to handle many of the administrative tasks related to project intake and file setup, project accuracy and information updates, cancellations, and file maintenance. In 2018 with the evolution of the digital TABS system, TDLR shifted most of these tasks to the RAS. At the same time, TDLR enacted  greater oversight and stricter enforcement of the policies and procedures which we are required to follow.  This has drastically increased the amount of administrative work necessary to meet new requirements and the time our office spends in an effort to provide exemplary services to our clients. In order for us to be able to continue to provide the quality of service our clients expect, we have had to hire additional staff and add an administrative fee of $50.00 per project. This fee is intended to cover costs associated with opening, maintaining, changing, or closing any TDLR project.
